New Zealand’s leading accommodation provider, Heritage Hotels, will partner with TFE Hotels in a multi-property management agreement, with top New Zealand law firm, MinterEllisonRuddWatts advising on the strategic agreement.

Real Estate Partner, David Gilbert led the law firm’s team advising Heritage Hotels, saying upon the agreement’s signing: “The agreement between TFE Hotels and Heritage Hotels sends a very clear signal to New Zealand’s accommodation sector which is experiencing a rapidly rising international tourism market as the world is reminded of everything our country has to offer visitors.

“This agreement is a significant boost for the country’s tourism sector and will help shape its future.”

Through the partnership, Heritage Hotels retains ownership of its portfolio in New Zealand. TFE Hotels will manage more than 500 rooms across five properties including three properties in Auckland and Wellington – two of the country’s key visitor destinations.

Heritage Hotels’ Managing Director, Jeffrey Tang, said the partnership added value to New Zealand’s economy and hotel sector, with plans already underway to upgrade five hotels in a rolling refurbishment plan over the next few years.

“TFE Hotels is an owner, manager and developer and its impressive presence in multiple markets complements our vision for the future. We are delighted to have a robust strategic agreement in place, and we appreciate the commercial legal expertise that David and Jennifer at MinterEllisonRuddWatts provided,” added Ms Ho Chai Kun, Deputy Managing Director at Heritage Hotels.
