Dealmaker skills applauded
MinterEllisonRuddWatts’ ability to broker the most complex of commercial deals was recognised across the Tasman last night.
At the Australasian Law Awards in Sydney, Corporate Partner Silvana Schenone was highly commended in the hotly contested New Zealand Dealmaker of the Year category.
Renowned for her ability to get the most complex and innovative deals done in a pragmatic way, Silvana leads some of New Zealand’s most iconic transactions, including market “firsts” like CBL’s dual listing on the NZX and ASX – the first IPO following an overhaul of the securities legislation in New Zealand – and the first Scheme of Arrangement under New Zealand’s new corporate laws.
Silvana commented: “I am delighted to be recognised for the quality of the work we have delivered for our clients. It’s rewarding to have been able to advise on some of the more complex and innovative deals in the past year – over what has been a busy period. The calibre of nominees was very high and it’s an honour to be recognised amongst them.”
The results follow MinterEllisonRuddWatts being named New Zealand Law Firm of the Year by Chambers Asia Pacific in March.
