Ruvin provides advice on a broad range of employment law and health and safety matters across the business spectrum.

He guides clients through disciplinary matters, personal grievances, Holidays Act 2003, individual and collective employment agreements, restructuring and redeployment and business sale or acquisition.

He assists clients to improve their health and safety performance and understand their obligations and risk under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. He has particular interest in health-related matters including workplace bullying, harassment, and discrimination.

He has a wealth of experience in mediation and litigation of employment matters and also has experience investigating complex employment matters such as allegations of bullying and harassment.

Ruvin enjoys working collaboratively with clients and getting to know them and their business needs to provide excellent service.

Career highlights

Secondment with Fire and Emergency NZ in their COVID-19 Vaccination Project Team, providing employment and health and safety advice to the COVID-19 Governance Group.

Secondments with large organisations, including the Department of Corrections and WSP New Zealand (in Employment Relations Manager roles or similar).

Conducting several appointment reviews for Government departments.

Representing numerous clients in employment mediations and litigation, including claims relating to unjustified dismissal, unjustified disadvantage, breach of contract and workplace bullying.

Advising clients on employment matters in the various stages of corporate transactions, including due diligence, sale and purchase agreement reviews, employee transfers.
