Career highlights
Liz is a trusted adviser to many large retirement village operators. Her work spans the myriad of issues that arise, from day-to-day challenges with residents and regulations, to broader strategy, policy and transactional matters. Liz regularly advises Oceania, Bupa, Ryman and Hoppers including in respect of structuring and registering new villages, drafting village documents and transaction matters.
Liz regularly acts for operators on acquisitions and dispositions both small (single village or facility) or large (portfolio). Liz acted for Metlifecare on the acquisition of The Selwyn Foundation’s portfolio of retirement villages.
Liz specialises in mid-market M&A and in recent years has acted on a number of international and domestic transactions, including acting for Multi-Color Corporation’s acquisition of Hexagon Holdings and for shareholders of Bay Radiology Limited on the sale of their shares to Infratail.
Trusted adviser to Covenant Trustee Services Limited in relation to its retirement village supervisions, including numerous consent applications for acquisitions, borrowing, and security.
Liz is particularly passionate about the coming impact of New Zealand’s ageing population on our country and how we can best shape New Zealand’s policy, infrastructure and economics to both serve that population and grow.
Regularly advising various warranty and indemnity insurers underwriting W&I policies in the New Zealand M&A market.
