Peter Wigglesworth

Senior Associate

Peter is a Senior Associate in our Corporate – Commercial and Regulatory division. He specialises in technology, telecommunications, data and privacy work, with particular expertise in commercial contracting, critical outsourcings, and advising on AI, privacy, consumer and other regulatory matters.

Peter’s clients include public and private sector organisations that are undergoing technology transformation projects and legal compliance uplift projects.

He advises on large and small commercial contracts, corporate transactions and regulatory matters, many with extra-territorial reach. Clients frequently benefit from the robust, transitional arrangements Peter has secured as part of their M&As and company carve-outs.

Peter also helps clients with their legal compliance projects – for example, privacy (including GDPR), telecommunications, online safety and AI compliance. Peter has played an integral role in creating and managing legal obligations registers – complete, interactive databases of the legal obligations relevant to an organisation, to assist with legal risk mapping and responsibility assignment.

Calmness and resilience are traits Peter is frequently praised for, even during the most demanding and technically complex matters.

What sets Peter apart is his thoughtful, pragmatic and responsive approach to all aspects of his work. He understands the importance of – and enjoys – asking good questions to understand a client’s business and vision to help him provide targeted, strategic advice.

Peter’s previous experience specialising in employment, health and safety, and immigration law contributes to his well-rounded and commercially astute approach, and ability to provide practical, integrated advice across a wide range of matters.

Peter brings nearly a decade of experience at top-tier law firms in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, including as part of the Technology, Media and Telecoms team at Linklaters LLP in London. He also has experience working in-house, on a 12-month client secondment to The Warehouse Group in 2026/2027.
