Andrew Monteith

Andrew is a general commercial property and construction legal expert with particular emphasis on infrastructure, major projects, Public Private Partnerships (PPP), leasing and large scale developments, and local government.

Andrew advises both private sector and public sector clients on all aspects of commercial property. He advises the construction industry on procurement, consultancy and construction arrangements in New Zealand, and acts for a number of government and local government entities in respect of property, development and leasing matters.

Experienced at contract preparation and negotiation, Andrew advises clients on acquisitions and divestments; property due diligence, leasing, large scale developments and subdivisions, joint venture development arrangements, public works and advising overseas companies investing in New Zealand property. Andrew has considerable experience acting for offshore investors who need consent under the Overseas Investment Act for acquisitions of interests in “sensitive land”.

Some of Andrew’s clients include AUT University, Cloudy Bay, Auckland Council, Waitemata District Health Board and Tegel Foods.

Andrew has been recognised as a key individual in the “Chambers Asia-Pacific Guide” and Asia Pacific 500 for his advice on commercial property and construction matters. David Gilbert

Partner - Property and Real Estate

David is a highly regarded commercial property lawyer who has advised on some of New Zealand’s largest property transactions and developments.

Advising on property acquisitions, property developments and leasing, David has particular expertise in putting together complex acquisition agreements, project contracts, commercial subdivisions, including office, retail and industrial properties, shopping centres and industrial parks.

David has extensive public and private sector experience in due diligence, and the acquisition and disposal of land, retail premises and office complexes. He also has experience advising clients, including the Crown, in the health, military and energy sectors.

David represents major asset managers in their property portfolio requirements from acquisition, including Overseas Investment Office compliance, management and divestment. David reviews and coordinates property leases.

Patricia Green

Patricia leads the Wellington property team. She is a commercial property legal expert with experience in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Patricia advises both private and public sector clients on all aspects of commercial property, including property, development and leasing matters. She also provides advice to clients with national property portfolios and enjoys assisting clients with their strategic planning and vision for such portfolios. Patricia also has extensive experience in the development of precedent documentation for both landlord and tenant clients.

Patricia has worked on an extensive range of commercial transactions including major leasing projects for both public and private sector clients.

She has a wealth of experience advising on the sale and acquisition of major commercial properties. This includes undertaking due diligence investigations for vendors and purchasers, drafting contract terms and conditions, and negotiating complex development agreements and advising overseas companies investing in New Zealand property.

Her expertise extends to negotiating and drafting development agreements and construction documents for principals and tenants for commercial and mixed use buildings and advising on procurement and tender processes, including for tenant fit out, new build and refurbishment.

Ross is one of New Zealand’s leading commercial property and construction lawyers. He brings more than 35 years’ experience to his diverse property practice with a focus on commercial property, construction, projects and development.
